Praise the Lord!

Great thanks goes to God for keeping us in the palm of His hand this year. As many of you know, it has been a time of turmoil in Haiti's Government, being an election year, but God has seen us through.

With fewer teams last fall, more time was devoted to building up the body of Christ as our construction focus was on the high school.

Only the Lord could orchestrate our success with the MTM schools as we continue to be blessed with good, hard working staff members who are dedicated to their jobs. We also praise God for our health & for His complete healing of our son Stephen, who became ill in December. We are blessed!

High School

is a great acheivement for the Haitian student. It is unlikely that the majority of students go this far in their education because of the many obstacles they face along the way. In the village of Gramothe MTM is helping students to acheive this goal. Last fall we began construction and will open in September with 7th, 8th, & 9th grade classes. This is a monumental year as our first 1st grade class will now be our first 7th grade class in the new high school. Sponsors can be proud of their students for being overcomers and pressing onward in their education.

Please pray as we continue preparing ground for the preschool playground that we hope to finish this year. Also, join with us as we pray for a Computer Lab Instructor.

Sponsorship is an important way for MTM to provide an education to students. Sponsor's $25/month helps to provide a well rounded education, a hot lunch, healthcare as needed, school supplies, books and uniforms as needed as well as expenses for the school and it's staff. We sincerely appreciate those sponsors who are committed to their student(s). For more information about this program, please contact us.

Our medical clinic in Gramothe will soon change. Construction is about to begin on an addition that will include an area for performing operations, dentistry as well as recovery for patients. Please pray with us as we trust the finances and details of this project to God.

Coming to Haiti is always a blessing to both the traveler and the Haitian people. Ministry Teams last season were few in number, but mighty in giving of their time, talents and treasures. In September and then again starting in January we hosted a variety of teams that included people from all walks of life and of all ages to do ministry in the areas of evangelism, construction, craft instruction and to work in the medical clinic. Many miracles were witnessed as the hand of God was truly present. It is always a true blessing for us to host these short-term missionaries in our home and to provide them with the oportunity to see more of God's kingdom here on earth. We along with the Haitian people are deeply grateful for the many who leave the comfort of their homes to share themselves with others.

Mission Teams are a vital part of our medical ministry. We are always praying and looking for professionals who might commit to MTM and the ministry for a long-term stay to provide quality care to patients in Haiti. If you would like to lead or be a part of a visiting team (medical or other), please contact us for more information.

The Gramothe Church has seen it's share of growing pains this year, but God is faithful to bring His children through. It has been fun watching some of the young men learning to play instruments, demonstraing their new-found talents during services. Thru the trials, the Church is experiencing deeper level of worship and a better understanding of God working in their daily lives as they continue in discipleship and in exercising their gifts. Please continue to pray for us as we make disciples and train them up for service.

Family time has been special this year. We were able to take time out to travel for a long weekend to the neighboring Dominican Republic in May with friends. As we traveled from Miami to Indiana in June, time together at the beach and seeing the sights in Tennessee was fun. Being stateside for July 4th was also a big boom, especially as we celebrated with my sister and her family. Canoeing with friends recently revealed a big improvement on our paddling skills over last year's trip! Stephen had a blast at church camp while David enjoyed having mom and dad to himself for a few days. It's also been great to spend time with Casey as he prepares for his 2nd year of college in Mattoon, IL and continues his service with the National Guard.

Thanks to so many of you that have blessed our family with your presence in our home, your prayers and your giving. We also sincerely appreciate those that helped us in our summer travels. It means a lot to be welcomed into your homes, your churches and your communities. May God bless you as He has bless us!
